Info from the 4000 Footer Committee

I received my literature from the 4000 footer committee after a few months, and what a complete, thorough, organized, and well written packet of information it is. The committee is a volunteer organization, connected to the AMC, in fact one of the White Mountain Guide editors, Steven D. Smith is on the committee. I sincerely thank them for their thoroughness and volunteerism.

Message to Thru Hikers on the AT

Family at Zealand Hut

Zealand Falls Day Hike

Lonesome Lake Brookie

Couldn't resist catching some brookies on the fly while at Lonesome Lake Hut. These beautiful fish were all schooling in the marshes in the undercut banks. They hit the beetles hard.

Lonesome Lake Hut

During our stay in NH during the summer of 2010, we did an overnight to Lonesome Lake Hut, the western most AMC hut on the Appalachian Trail.

On top of Mt Eisenhower

A great hike to the top on July 24, 2010, but too much fog for a view on the summit of Mt Eisenhower, 4,760'.

Through the Fog

Brant on the home stretch to the summit of Mt Eisenhower.

Halfway up Mt Ike

Crawford Path

On top of Mt Pierce

A spectacular day on top of Mt Pierce, 4275', on July 17, 2010. Now the descent via Crawford Path.

Ladders to Mt Pierce

Lunch at Mizpah Hut

Time for lunch at Mizpah, in between Jackson and Pierce.

On Top of Mt Jackson

A snack and a summit, Mt Jackson, 4,012', on July 17, 2010, via the Pierce-Jackson trail.

Scramble up Pierce Jackson

Peak Numero Uno: On top of Mt Washington

Me and Squeek (mom) on top of Mt Washington, 6,288', on July 11, 2010. What a great day for a hike. Up Tuckerman's Ravine Trail, down Lion's Head.

Almost There

Squeek taking a much deserved rest on a cairn as we get very close to summiting Mt Washington. The view South is amazing, with the Davis Path just visible to the right of the image, and what I believe is Boott Spur rising in the center background. An absolutely beautiful weather day.

Me too, some day soon

I love the exclamation of this vanity license plate:"NH4KDUN!"

Brant and I came upon this after summiting Mt. Eisenhower on July, 24, 2010. Love it.
